At first it says that it is a free report. Then it says 1$ when checking out. Then I get a $29.95 charge on my card. Then I learn that its $29.95 every two weeks. Website makes it too easy to make a mistake and get charged $29.95 for only one report

Pros:
  • Good report
Cons:
  • Website is very easy to make mistake

Preferred solution: make sure subscription is canceled

User's recommendation: Only if you move multiple vehicles weekly. Me, I only needed one report.

Gave the wrong car details, charged 29,95 UDS instead of 1 USD that was mentioned! Phone number doesn't answer. In two weeks they charged another 29,95 from my card without any notice.

They lie

It says $1 for a Vin check which they do take the $1 mine said it was from reportnex, then it says what email should we send it to and when you click that box they charge you $29.95 from another name chicreports and you don't even know it's happening until your bank notifies you about a purchase or until you check your acct. Luckily I had already locked my card so they didn't get that amount after that I messaged them that it was a good thing I locked my card.

Plus that's not my Main card so that's also a plus!!!

But don't use these ppl cuz they say its only $1 while others rip them off for charging more $$ when actually its them. There is a free one that is approved by the DMV carsforsale.com

Fraud

Took 29.95 USD instead of 1 USD. Gave the information about another car. I wrote them a reply asking the refund. Nobody answered. After 2 week they took another 29.95 USD. Nobody answers the emails, the phone has only automatic answer. Chat works, but they only ask to wait.

If it sounds too good to be true, it most certainly is!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
VinHistoryUSA - If it sounds too good to be true, it most certainly is!!!

Against my better judgement, I decided to purchase the $1 vehicle history report (even though in a Google search, they popped up as free)Then, just two minutes after the $1 charge came through on my credit card, this vendor had automatically added on a $29.95 bi-weekly subscription service and charged me for it without my consent.

This company needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY...Not only do they pop up in a Google search as "free" but, then, they list their cost per one vehicle history report as $1 each...UNTIL, you reach the checkout page where they sneakily add a small note that the $1 initial deposit will be followed by a $29.95 bi-weekly subscription.

Per FTC's ROSCA guidelines, subscription disclosures must be "clear and conspicuous" but, more specifically, a "visual disclosure, by its size, contrast, location, the length of time it appears, and other characteristics, should stand out from any accompanying text or other visual elements so that it is easily noticed, read, and understood"...Furthermore, the FTC defines an "inadequate disclosure" as "one where the consumer sees an offer upfront, in an electronic or written advertisement or on the landing page of a website, which is materially different from the terms of the offer presented in later stages, such as later web pages, of the ordering process" - this definition is the complete OPPOSITE of how this company conducts itself.

Unless you change your debit/credit card number, they will continue to charge you over and over again (under various company names) EVEN IF they've told you that your subscription has been cancelled...Some of these sister-company names include: Track The Gene, FindTheirReport, TrackThatReport, ProReports, ValueReportEasy, Jammin Enterprises LLC, EXEC Vin Results, Citizen Scanner, TrackTheVin, TrackVinReport, Budget Vehicle Report and so on.

ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL AND DISPICABLE. Honestly, they don't even deserve the ONE star rating.

Scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My review is a repeat of everyone else's. I was told it was only $1. Got scammed into a bi-weekly subscription. Along with a bunch of other charges from various (probably) fake companies. Their "customer service" reps kept giving me the run around. Their address states that they're in California, but I'm willing to bet every dollar I have that they're in a call center in Bengal, India. I'm also 99.9% sure that they are asking people about their car's extended warranties.

Not just "no", but *** NO!"

Original review Oct 24, 2023
My experience is the same as every other complaint you will read. It started in February 2023 and has never been completed resolved. It took 5 months for them to cancel the subscription. They still owe me nearly $250. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. Please, if you have been victimized be these people, fille a report with the FTC! I don't understand why they are still in business. I also wonder what other avenues they're using to steal from us.

Fraudulent charges

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We were looking into purchasing a vehicle and decided to search the VIN to see if it had been wrecked, etc. This was the beginning of March.

I got online on vinhistoryusa.com and there was a fee of $1 for a VIN search and report. After that, I have continually been getting charges on my credit card for a "subscription" that I did not agree to. I started receiving charges on my credit card (under different names each time) for random amounts. When I call the number listed next to the charge on my billing statement, it states if you are calling about a billing inquiry or charge, please select 1 and when you do the call gets dropped/cut off.

I called back and selected 2 for acct inquiry and finally got a live agent and cancelled the "subscription" that I never agreed to on April 12, 2023. Unfortunately, they are still trying to charge my card. Thankfully the card company notifies me of fraudulent activity and I deny the charge but I have to get a new card sent out and they have somehow gotten through to the new cards twice now! I called again today and spoke with Ania charge on card- Personal Reports 1-97*-***-**** and she told me the "subscription" shows as cancelled on April 12, 2023 and I asked her how I received a fraudulent activity notice on my card at 4am today from this company (Personal Reports 1-97*-***-****) then and she said she did not know because the subscription was cancelled in April.

Please help! I have had my Bank of America account for 24 years and if this fraudulent activity continues, I am going to have to completely close out my account with them because somehow they are getting through to the new card numbers

Pros:
  • Got the report
Cons:
  • Conned me into a subscription

Preferred solution: I want them to quit trying to charge me for a "subscription" (that I never agreed to) and I had cancelled with them after the very first charge in April bur they have continued trying to charge me
